Privacy Policy

Wavebin is built local-first on purpose: your audio files, metadata, and project folders live on your machine and are never uploaded anywhere by the app. This page explains exactly what the small amount of data we do handle is, and why.

The desktop app

The app makes exactly one kind of network request: checking whether a license key is valid.

  • What's sent: the license key itself, nothing else — not file names, not folder paths, not any audio or metadata content, not a device identifier.
  • When: when you activate a key, and roughly every 12 hours afterward to confirm it's still valid (with a 30-day offline grace period if your connection is down).
  • Everything else — watched folders, cataloged files, waveform playback, metadata edits, naming templates, session logs, review-queue decisions — is read, written, and stored entirely on your computer, in your OS's local app-data folder. Buying a Pro license (this website)

Checkout is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

  • Email address — collected by Stripe at checkout, used to send your license key and for purchase-related support.
  • Stripe customer/session/charge IDs — stored so we can look up a purchase for support or process a refund.
  • License key and its status (active/revoked) — stored so the app can verify it.

That's the complete list — we don't run analytics or ad-tracking scripts on this site, and we don't use marketing cookies.

Who else touches this data

  • Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Resend — sends the license-key email after a purchase.
  • Neon / Vercel — hosts the database and this site.

We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Purchase and license records are kept as long as the license could reasonably need support (activation issues, refunds, re-sending a lost key). You can ask us to delete your purchase record at any time — see Contact below; note that this also deactivates the associated license.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, correct it, or request deletion at any time by emailing us. If you're in the EU/UK or another jurisdiction with statutory data rights, those rights apply as provided by law.

Children

Wavebin is a professional audio tool not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
